All I have to say is I am thankful, so far, we haven't had all that snow to deal with this year!
Stay safe and Warm... Barb and Audrey!

The freezing sleet makes me most anxious.
I remember times when you could actually not even walk - so like glass.

We are having freezing drizzle and "thunder snow," according to the weatherman this morning.

But it's slippery, at the freezing point, and tonight it will turn colder and the heavy white stuff moves in. I'm so glad I was able to drive out of my garage yesterday, despite the six inches and drifting piled up in front of it. Now I can read good books, play on my computer, and watch TV if I am housebound for awhile again.

Stay warm & safe, everyone!

Gosh, it's looking so gloomy and bad out there. But I will be watching my "Mr. Monk" marathon on ION TV from 1pm to 8pm today.

NJ got lucky - we have icy roads with the freezing rain today, but had less snow to cope with. interesting - the plows made one pass in the neighborhoods and focused on the highways. School is on 2 hr delay because of the freezing rain coming thru. They still haven't cleared out the busstop areas - typically safety of kids is paramount. Maybe they wanted the snow pack to sop up the freezing rain, allowing them to plow it clear?? dunno
safe travels to all

It's raining here - luckily temps are above freezing.
I miss yesterday's sun!
High winds are expected this afternoon.

I have seen news reports of the Long Island Expressway & hundreds of cars stuck from Friday until yesterday....did these people just ignore the storm warnings?

good question Terry
NJ - we were ordered off the road by noon - emergency traffic only. The townships activated their emergency warning phonecalls shortly after 10am; the county issued emergency calls within an hour. Schools were halfday and school buses started taking kids home by shortly after 11. It was tight, but then NJ had a lesser forecast than Boston area. These phonecall alerts are very effective getting thru to more people than even TV announcements.

Dang, hurt my back shoveling. Going to take a couple of aspirins and just try to lie down and read. I surely hope Spring will arrive early this year.
