New Sweeper Reference Document Available

The Sweepaholic ® GuideList II - "Reference for Sweepstakes Sponsors"

If you’ve ever wanted to send a Thank You note for a prize ... or needed to report a problem with a non-responsive J/A ... or wanted to ask a question regarding the prize or its value, then this document can put the sponsors contact information easily at your finger tips.

It provides a comprehensive list of information on over 500 companies that have previously sponsored sweepstakes promotions. In addition to mailing addresses and other contact information, it also identifies recent sweepstakes promotions sponsored by each company, as well as the names of the sweeps judging agencies that a specific sponsor has used in the past, so a sponsor can be linked to a judging agency.

The information on sponsors was collected essentially using 3 key sources ... 1) from the information printed within the sweeps rules .... 2) from the sponsor's official company web-site .... 3) from conducting Google internet searches for the company's address and contact information.

All of this info is available somewhere on the internet if you have the time and patience to locate it. But we've already done the research and compiled the info into the GuideList.

Additional information is available by clicking on the link below.

Don't usually post any wins on message boards. It sometimes creates too much envy.

But yes ... have won some nice prizes in the last 3 months.

Best among them is a trip for 4 to LA for a tour of Warner Bros studios. Am taking 3 family members and doing a side-trip to Las Vegas in September. Won using a yellow foam postcard with 2 entries.

Those who enter heavily are often rewarded with an extensive list of wins. It's always nice to share the odd win though - encouragement to those who enter for trips and you gave others something to wonder about. (foam postcards??)

congrats on the trip - it sounds great

I'm a big proponent of using "decorated" entries when I believe it might be advantageous to do so. I generally make my own postcards from discarded food product cartons.

A foam postcard is one actually made of foam, sort of like a condensed version of a piece of packing foam used for shipping. It is very lightweight and highly flexible, and it is approximately 1/64 inch thick. I purchased some 4 x 6 size foam postcards from my local Dollar Store. I came across them by accident.

I was curious to see if they could actually be used as a postcard, so I purchased a few packs in a variety of colors. Initially I was a little concerned that they might exceed the thickness requirement for a postcard.

Before sending any for a sweeps entry, I sent a couple to myself as a test to determine if they would be processed by the USPS. I put my mailing address on them with a return address label, just in case they got mangled by the machinery or were refused to be delivered, and could be returned to me if that were the case.

They came through ok, so I have been using them occasionally when I feel that a "decorated" postcard might have a better chance at winning than a plain Jane one from the Post Office.

They take a normal 27-cent postcard stamp.

The only drawback in using them is that because they are so soft they cannot be addressed with a typical pen, so you must use a Sharpie, which sometimes results in a larger size script that takes up more space to include the mailing address.

HTH

You're welcome Ronda.

In fact, your question got me to thinking about those postcards. So today on the way to check my business mailbox I stopped at the Dollar Tree store and bought some more ... two 32-packs ... for a total of 64 postcards for only $2.14.
